影片改编自拉塞尔·班克斯在2021年出版的小说《前途无量》，讲述了著名纪录片制片人伦纳德·法夫的故事。伦纳德·法夫是一位年轻时为了逃避战争征兵逃到加拿大的美国人。在蒙特利尔，与癌症作斗争的法夫同意接受最后一次采访。在采访中，他揭开了自己保守一生的秘密，并自我解构了曾经被神化的生活。
第77届法国戛纳国际电影节将于5月14日至25日举行。
